Man on a Mission
Hi, my name is Craig Barke. I am the inventor of the Wrench Cheater. I have been a mechanic all my life and declared disabled in 2006 from an on-the-job injury. As you can imagine, it’s been difficult to fulfill the needs of my growing family. But no matter how difficult it has gotten, no matter how much I’ve hurt, and no matter the countless bloody knuckles, family is what matters. My family is what has kept me going.
As an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force, I began thinking of ways to increase torque while using tools in a safe and effective manner. The old-fashioned way of wrench in the wrench caused me (and so many others) injuries and was hard to manage especially in tight spaces. With the increased hardship of being disabled, turning wrenches became more and more difficult.
One day, as I slept on a long flight from Oregon to Ohio to visit my dad, I fell asleep and had the idea of the Wrench Cheater appear in a dream. This was it! The answer I needed to remove mechanical limitations, a blessing from God.
Upon returning home I began making the tool and taking the necessary steps to make the dream a reality. Along the way I’ve received encouragement and strength to follow through with the support of my family and friends.
Now I’m able to provide in a way that I’m passionate about. And being a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, I am so happy to tell you that the Wrench Cheater is made in right here America, by machinist's and mechanics who know the value of what we’re creating. It’s not just about happy knuckles, it’s about the smiles on our families faces.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Blessings to you and yours.
